Donate Goods

We depend on generous donations of a variety of items to serve our residential and nonresidential clients. Please call (502) 581-7200 if you have questions about a particular type of donation. Feel free to drop off or mail your donations to 927 S. 2nd St., Louisville KY 40203. Thanks!

:: Donate new items. Click here to see a list of items needed by month at all of our locations.
– > For survivors of sexual assault, our SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner) nurses provide compassionate care and support. They typically keep the clothing a client wore during an assault for evidence so are always in need of new clothing to offer in exchange: jogging or yoga pants, pajama bottoms, comfortable shorts, socks, bras, and women and men’s underwear.
– > Our residential clients need socks and underwear in all sizes–adults and children’s, please!
– > Our Southern Indiana Campus needs adult cold medicine, larger sized diapers, baby wipes and baby lotion.

:: Donate your used cell phone.
Have you upgraded to a new cell phone plan and no longer have a use for your older phone? Drop it off at any of The Center’s locations (click here for map). We refurbish used phones so our clients will always have a way to place a call in an unsafe situation.

:: Donate gently used clothing to your local Goodwill store on behalf of The Center.
Our Kentuckiana community is so generous that the management, storage and distribution of used donations became more than we could accommodate so The Center for Women and Families does not accept used clothing and goods donations at our shelter locations. But you can still donate your items and help our clients at your local Goodwill.It’s easy–just deliver your tax deductible donation to any Goodwill Industries of Kentucky or Bridgepointe Goodwill of Southern Indiana locations and tell the representative accepting your donation that it’s for The Center. Our clients will receive a Goodwill purchase voucher in the amount of the estimated donation value of your donation. These vouchers enable our residents and clients to experience shopping for themselves and their family, and ensures every resident and client–regardless of age, size or special needs–receives clothing that fits properly.
