THURSDAY IN BLACK: Indiana
Location: Indiana
Wear black clothing today as a way to raise awareness about sexual violence and show support for survivors. Thursdays in Black began in the 1970’s by women in Argentina to raise awareness about the alarming number of women in that country who were disappearing and later being found raped and murdered. In subsequent years it has become a world-wide effort with people joining in solidarity in countries such as Israel, Australia, South Africa, Canada and the United States.

This training will equip those who work with teens to confront the growing problem of teen dating violence head-on. Participants will gain understanding into the dynamics of dating violence and sexual assault and learn skills to both pro-actively and re-actively respond to the problem.

2010 Pegasus Parade

Community supporters, volunteers and staff will represent The Center for Women and Families in the 2010 Pegasus Parade. The group's goal is to honor survivors of intimate partner abuse and sexual violence while participating in one of Louisville's proudest traditions.
