:: Thursdays in Black are weekly throughout October
Wear black clothing as a way to raise awareness about domestic violence and show support for survivors. Thursdays in Black began in the 1970’s by women in Argentina to raise awareness about the alarming number of women in that country who were disappearing and later being found raped and murdered. In subsequent years it has become a world-wide effort with people joining in solidarity to raise awareness about intimate partner abuse and sexual violence.

Wear your black clothing, change your Facebook profile picture, post a flyer. Let your community know you’re part of creating a world without violence—do Thursdays in Black! Click here to download a flyer to post at your school, workplace or community center.
